This beautiful Grade 2 Listed Thatched Cottage required series of extensions & internal alterations to increase the living space and improve the flow of the house to work for a modern family. As the cottage was Grade 2 Listed and in an AONB and Conservation Area, we had to work closely with both the architect and the planning department to make sure all of the alterations would compliment both the existing cottage and its rural surroundings. The new extension added a large kitchen, dining room & master bedroom with ensuite. The original cottage was re-configured to contain 3 further bedrooms, a bathroom, living room & playroom. The extension incorporated traditional stone work with custom made windows and doors & cedar cladding ensuring that the ‘new’ complements the existing property.
